Moss & Compass envisions a generational shift in how humans inhabit the Earth — trade the role of the consumer for the responsibility of the ancestor. We see a future where the Kansas City landscape is dotted with “Sigil-marked” families and community folx who possess the skills necessary to thrive in a changing world.

Meet our founder Ashe, an ordained Bandrui and Master of Education who has spent decades living sustainably off-grid and leading families through the wild. Along with our dedicated team, they serve as a sentry for the wild ways, weaving 25 years of teaching expertise into a mission of ecological literacy, conservation and communal belonging.

We envision a future where our landscape is woven together by generations of stewards who possess the ancestral competence to thrive – a world where ‘risky play’ is a rite of passage, skill-building is an act of collective liberation, and the boundaries between home, community, and the wild disappear.
